Raytheon Goleta

Raytheon develops electronic warfare systems at a facility in Goleta, across from the control tower at Santa Barbara Airport. The plant employs a few hundred people, and for years was operated as part of the company’s Intelligence and Space division, based in El Segundo. Some of the programs at Goleta were enhanced when the company bought the Texas-based intelligence and surveillance company E-Systems Inc., in 1995. Other programs involve electronic warfare measures and countermeasures, including towed decoys. It is one of two aerospace plants operated by Raytheon in Goleta, The other, a mile west down Hollister Avenue, is Raytheon Vision Systems, which manufactures detective assemblies, such as infrared focal plane arrays, used in imaging systems to capture multispectrum data from remote sensing satellites and other platforms.
