General Atomics makes many of the unmanned aircraft that are used by US forces around the world, including the Predator UAV. The company has dozens of buildings in office parks at the northern fringes of San Diego, where components and software are developed, including this building, at 16701 Via Del Campo Court in Rancho Bernardo, which was among the first acquired by the company as it expanded in the region, starting in the late 1990s. The company’s Aeronautical Systems division, and its more diversified Electromagnetic Systems Group, along with its Systems Integration division, employ around 1,300 people in Rancho Bernardo. General Atomic’s site in Poway, nearby, is now a larger development and production location for the company.
