General Atomics’ building in Sabre Springs, located between Rancho Bernardo and Poway, is one of the principal engineering and manufacturing buildings for the company’s UAVs, made as part of its Aeronautical Systems division. The company employs as many as 1,300 people here. Final assembly of the UAVs takes place at the company’s two flight test centers in the Mojave desert, north of Los Angeles.
