This 800 acre site, west of Norco in the Chino Hills, was a major field test and development location, operated by Aerojet from 1954 to 1995. It was an ordnance testing site, where small rockets and munitions, including incendiary projectiles and depleted uranium weapons, were shot from fixed points to targets in the canyon walls. Many other forms of weapons R&D and test and evaluation were also conducted here. These operations stopped in 1995, when Aerojet, by then owned by GenCorp, sold its ordnance division. Since that time, the site, now adjacent to an expensive gated housing development and country club, has been working on its environmental issues. Most of the buildings remain.
