There are a number of interesting avian specimens in this museum about the region’s aviation history, like fragments of the Hindenberg (an airship which burned at New Jersey's Lakehurst Navy Base in 1937, ending the use of blimps as passenger vessels). The Museum has an array of unusual small aircraft including the glidemobile, an early hovercraft test-flown on a pond in New Jersey in 1959, and a flight simulator used to train pilots in the dawn of the jet age. There are displays about Newark International, the Meadowlands' larger airport, an archive of videos and books, and a gift shop.
