The Center’s Desert Research Station (DRS) is a research and display facility located in the Mojave Desert, near the town of Hinkley, California. The DRS supports interpretive programs about the land uses of this remarkable hinterland of the Los Angeles region. 


The DRS is open only during scheduled programs:

Part Two: Remote Sensing in the Field - NOTE REVISED DATES
January 18 – February 16, 2025
Open Saturday and Sunday
10 am to 5 pm

Admission is free. No reservations required.


Upcoming Events:

Bus Trip to the Desert Research Station
Saturday, January 18, 2025, 9 am – 7 pm

Join members of the CLUI for a bus trip to the DRS. The bus will depart from CLUI Los Angeles at 9331 Venice Boulevard in Culver City at 9AM, and should return by 7PM. Ticket price is $60, and includes a seat on the bus as well as lunch. Advanced registration is required. Email clui@clui.org to join the waiting list.
 

Presentations at the DRS
Saturday, February 15, 2025, 1 pm
Presentations from Remote Sensing in the Field project participants will occur at 1 pm. Admission is free. No reservations required.
